DANCE PARTNERS
The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Fund’s Touring Initiative
A national network of presenters connected by artistic affinity and shared values, Dance Partners is built on a simple premise:
successful touring is a shared responsibility. The initiative brings together presenters who find common ground through the
artists they value, the audiences and communities they serve, and a commitment to building a stronger, more sustainable
dance touring landscape.
By moving beyond individual engagements, presenters become part of a dependable network built on collaboration and
collective responsibility, with the goal of strengthening the infrastructure for dance presenting in the United States. Within this
network, presenters coordinate opportunities, share resources, and work with dance companies and their agents to create
touring routes that are geographically efficient, economically viable, and environmentally responsible.
The initiative encourages presenters and agents to approach touring pragmatically, recognizing that occasional scheduling and curatorial flexibility can transform isolated engagements into viable tours. By embracing a collective responsibility for the
success of these tours, participants help create a more sustainable touring ecosystem that benefits the entire field.
To support this collaborative approach, the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Fund provides meaningful financial assistance to presenters
and dance companies, helping make possible more performances, more communities reached, deeper audience relationships,
and more substantial engagements.
